About
Chris has taught Architectural History, Communication, and Design Studio at The University of Queensland from 2003-2005, more recently joining the School of Design at the Queensland University of Queensland in 2006 to teach Communications and Design Studio. Chris is a PhD Candidate in Architecture at The University of Queensland. Chris graduated from The University of Queensland in 1995 with a Bachelor of Design Studies. He later completed a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons I) in 2001. Chris commenced a Masters in 2002 that he subsequently upgraded to a PhD in 2003. He is currently studying with John Macarthur, Antony Moulis, and Andrew Leach. His research interests primarily concern visuality in Art and Architecture, and understanding the ways in which new-media and emerging technologies effect our understanding, and engagement with, space. Chris is currently a member of the ATCH [Architecture, Theory, Research, Criticism] research group at UQ, and a member of the AMDM [Arts media, design, and modernity research group at QUT. Chris has practiced architecture in a number of Brisbane-based practices on award wining schemes. He has been awarded a number of grants, teaching awards, and student prizes, including the inaugural Art + Architecture Infinite Design Competition in 2004.
